How to be a Good Year 1

We have inquired into their feelings on the matter. We asked them about what they need to learn, what they need to do in class, and what they should do to be good friends. We asked Ms Cribb about what she thinks a good year one needs to do. We interviewed a few older students, who were year ones attending Glendowie Primary School, and asked them what they did to be a good year one.  We observed the students in class and took photos of them working.

The year ones are learning how to be an I Care student. They brainstormed by using a “Y Chart”. The topics were:
  • What do we need to LISTEN for?”
  • “What do we need to LOOK for?”
  • “What do we need to FEEL for each other?”

They also discussed on the times when they kept on trying to achieve their goals. They talked about what things they find difficult. The year ones have learning games on their I-pads for literacy and maths.
