Y2/3 Swimming Sports

In Term 1 of 2016, The Year 2’s and Year 3’s were working very hard on their work in class. Then one day it was all disturbed and…they got stuck into swimming!

There were splashes everywhere, equipment scattered all around the pool, not to mention how wisely they used it, and how much practice they did! They practised all throughout Term 1. I think we even saw some little seals and dolphins in the pool!

Then came the day when they got to show off their new skills, to there family, friend and us. All was impressed!

We would just like to congratulate the Year 2’s and 3’s! Here it is Glendowie’s amazing little swimmers!

Our Brand New Tiger Turf

Kia ora Glendowie, Our school is very lucky to have had such committed workers, Tigerturf, who spent 5 1/2 months working on our multi-sport turf. We, the Sport and Property Councillors, planned the big opening to show off our new facility. We even got Mr Kloppers to cut a ribbon and bought some presents for Mrs Biggs, Miss Matos, Mr Fale and the Board of Trustees to say thanks. We made a roster of who can go on the turf each day, then after two weeks we opened it to the whole school. Our school has been using the facility with a I-Care attitude and using it carefully. Keep up the good work and enjoy our new and improved play area. Thanks to the Board of Trustees, Mr Kloppers and Tigerturf.  We really appreciate your hard work. Tiaki's Antarctic Adventure

The Year 7's have been looking at exploration and discoveries in their last unit of the year "Where We Are in Place and Time".  We focus on Antarctica and have been learning a lot about what it is like down there and the explorers who ventured down there in the past. We all want to go to Antarctica - but one special Glendowie student really did get to go down there.  Check out his snaps...
