Exhibition Water Advert

Is our school drinking enough water? Well we don’t think so. We are Emma, Demi and Elle from year 8. For exhibition we have been looking into the amount of sugar people are consuming in their lunchboxes and we found that children are consuming way too much sugar. One of the reasons why kids are having so much sugar is from fizzy drinks, so we decided to make an advert promoting water to encourage children to drink more water. So Check it out!

Thursday 18th June - Swimming Sports

Every year in Term 1, our Year 1-6 students have swimming lessons in our school pool with the Year 7 and 8's going up to the pools at Sacred Heart.   Being in a country surrounded in water with many beautiful beaches, it is important to learn basic swimming skills and how to be safe in water in a variety of situations.  Near the end of Term 1, all of our students participate in swimming sports with our juniors sharing with their families and friends what they have learned and our older students competing in events such as freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, medley and relays. Sasha and Lily have put together a short video with some media from our swimming sports days and some interviews with students who participated.

Our Brand New Tiger Turf

Kia ora Glendowie, Our school is very lucky to have had such committed workers, Tigerturf, who spent 5 1/2 months working on our multi-sport turf. We, the Sport and Property Councillors, planned the big opening to show off our new facility. We even got Mr Kloppers to cut a ribbon and bought some presents for Mrs Biggs, Miss Matos, Mr Fale and the Board of Trustees to say thanks. We made a roster of who can go on the turf each day, then after two weeks we opened it to the whole school. Our school has been using the facility with a I-Care attitude and using it carefully. Keep up the good work and enjoy our new and improved play area. Thanks to the Board of Trustees, Mr Kloppers and Tigerturf.  We really appreciate your hard work.
