PYP/international Councillors

Hi! We are Michaela and Louise and we are the PYP/international councillors for 2018. Our role consists of making our internationals feel most comfortable at GPS, we are also trying to promote the PYP system around our school. The way we plan on doing this is by having a booklet when they enter our school, it will include all of the things they would need to know and maps and rules of our school. We would also like to have an action wall in the hallway to library.

Thursday 18th June - Swimming Sports

Every year in Term 1, our Year 1-6 students have swimming lessons in our school pool with the Year 7 and 8's going up to the pools at Sacred Heart.   Being in a country surrounded in water with many beautiful beaches, it is important to learn basic swimming skills and how to be safe in water in a variety of situations.  Near the end of Term 1, all of our students participate in swimming sports with our juniors sharing with their families and friends what they have learned and our older students competing in events such as freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, medley and relays. Sasha and Lily have put together a short video with some media from our swimming sports days and some interviews with students who participated.
